Q 1 |
I want to deactivate
transmission when operating the host PC with the KNS. Can I do
that? |
It is possible. The user
must disable the transmission in menu. |
Q 2 |
(For use in Japan) I
will not be able to arrive at the transmission location within 3
hours if an accident such as not resuming remittance
occurs. |
The user cannot use the
KNS if he/she cannot arrive at the location making transmission
within 3 hours. |
Q 3 |
Is it possible to
disable transmission after making transmission for a certain
time? |
By setting the TOT to the
desired duration, the user can disable transmission after making a
transmission. However, this timer only counts transmission time,
so that the transceiver may enter reception mode during a normal
transmission for a longer time. |
Q 4 |
Does the KNS have a log
function? |
The ARHP (application of a
host PC located at transmission party) has the log function. Refer
to the ARHP help manual for details. |
Q 5 |
Does the KNS support
digital communications (PSK31, SSTV, RTTY)? |
Delays of signal transfer
likely occur since they are sent via network. The delay time
lengthens when using the KNS via the WAN so that the KNS cannot
support various digital communications and the operation requiring
quick response. We recommend the user not to use the KNS if he/she
does not satisfy the sound quality of the KNS. |
Q 6 |
How can I make the CW
keying? |
The user can make keying
on the keying window of the ARCP. The user can enter most of codes
except for some special symbols. However, it does not support the
Japanese CW. |
Q 7 |
Does the KNS support
the full break-in function or quick break-in function? |
The KNS does not support
the full break-in function since delays caused by network occur. We
do not recommend the user to use the KNS for operation in which the
timing for transmission and reception is essential, such as contest
and operation when pile-up occurs, since the delay time likely
become a big problem. The user must set a certain period of time for
break-in time. |
Q 8 |
Can I save the memory
channel data to a file? |
The user can save a memory
channel data to a file. The user can also save menu, slow scan
frequency, auto mode frequency, CW transmission log, and designed
filter data. We are not going to develop MCP memory management
program.

Q 9 |
I want to make an audio
interface cable with the MIC terminal and EXT-SP. |
Refer to the instruction
manual for the information about MIC terminal. Prepare the cable by
referring to the instruction manual. |
